Circles and squares in squares. What could be simpler? Almost anything? What could be rounder than the pizza cutting tool? It is indeed very round.

Squared yet somehow round — the pizza cutter

    1. We get “Chicago” pizza here too and it’s cut in squares. You can get HUGE ones for parties — much bigger than regular pizzas. I just have an old-time New Yorker’s fondness for triangular pizza pieces. I use this cutter constantly. It’s funny because I spent years never having one and trying to cut pizza — unsuccessfully — with a bread knife. Finally, a couple of years ago, I blew my budget and bought a decent pizza cutter. What a revelation! How did I live without one? Truly an epiphany.

    1. This one is sturdy. The el cheapo ones in the grocery store don’t actually cut the pizza. They score it, then you have to hack at it with another knife. This one CUTS- it’s an Oxo. There are others very much like it. As you say, they all LOOK the same, though they don’t all work equally well. As long as the blade cuts cleanly and is sturdy enough to let you press down and won’t crumple.
