WE ALMOST HAD IT IN OUR GRASP … AND THEN …
They began talking about another big storm at the end of last week. I was trying to not listen because I’ve had it with winter. It has been pretty warm … well at least not bitterly cold. We’ve had two nor’easters in less than two weeks, so what were the odds of having another one?
Yesterday, the morning arrived with a brilliant blue sky. We already knew that there was a storm brewing and we hustled to try and get everything done before whatever it was that would hit us.
When we got home from the MVB and the doctor and the post office, the sky wasn’t blue. It was filling up with storm clouds.
Tuning in the weather on TV, we were assured we’re absolutely getting snow. A lot of snow. More than a foot and possibly twice that. What happened to our tentative grasp on spring? The dawning hope of flowers?
When I first got up this morning, I opened the insulated curtains and looked outside. About an inch and a half, I figured. Then I turned on the computer and realized … that was just the beginning. There was at least another foot, maybe a foot and a half still to come.
I went back to bed. I saw absolutely no point in getting up. When I finally poked my head out of the covers a couple of hours later, there was a lot more snow on the ground … on everything. I told the dogs to stop being ninnies and go on out, which they did. Complaining, then, suddenly delighted. They kept coming in, covered in snow, having me towel them down, then running right back out. They don’t need spring. This is great, right Ma?
Right kids.
Will this winter never end? Between the brutality of politics and the cruelty of weather, the news is giving me a headache.
Nor is there any guarantee this will be the last storm of the season. It’s March. You just never know what’s coming next.
NOTE: Posts like this take a lot longer than you think. I have to take the pictures, process them, and finally post something. I apologize for being so slow, but all that takes time!

Well at least Bonnie, Gibbs and The Duke can enjoy this weirdness!. Great photos too, as usual.
Meanwhile over on the opposite (aptly named) side of this planet we just had our hottest day of the hot season – 38.5 deg C (103 F) – it’s supposed to be cooling down now fer Pete’s sake?
Surely there must be a happy medium between us somewhere on the globe??
BTW…. NO apologies necessary we are just grateful you can still post at all. 🙂

We DIDN’T lose power and are one of a few that kept it. more than 250,000 people went down this time. They restored 40,000 of them … but that’s a lot of disconnected folks.

Bob, Duke and Bonnie were romping nearby as I shovelled the front path for them so they could do what they must do. I don’t take pics of what they do.

LMAO!! 😀
I greatly respect your self-restraint sir, Truly I do.
I also respect your dedication to those who depend upon you… I’m not certain i could shovel that much snow in my 70’s for a nature call! 😉

There isn’t anyone else to do it. There’s no actual choice. It’s him or me or both of us. The dogs don’t shovel and there is no one else.

I guess a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do? – and that goes for a woman, equally! 😉
But dogs especially. 😀

Hopefully G won’t have to Do ‘S’ duty again this year! If our weather is anything to go by you should be due for some decent stuff for a week or so. 🙂

Damn dogs. Lazy! Probably say they have bone spurs.

Bob, Thanks. As Marilyn observes, “There’s no one else to dol it”. The dogs ignore my suggestion they shovel their own path.

Dogs are just happy to ‘let the chips fall where they may’ 😉

Thank you for your efforts, Marilyn. I rarely see snow. Once in a blue moon. It does look lovely, but cold….

Very cold. And heavy. Icy. We need spring.

I think Ani would rather have the snow 😉

Duke and Bonnie love snow. Gibbs likes the sofa best because he doesn’t like cold, icy paws.

So I’d gathered. Ani doesn’t care… but she’s a little further off the ground too 😉

No complaints here, these are spectacular! Awesome and beautiful. Not lovely to move around in granted, but spectacular to look and marvel at. We had that kind of snow last month. It’s gone and although it’s rubbing salt into the wound, buds are forming, we may …. may have spring around the corner, although this is April and we’ve been known to have snow this late!

The trees are taking a major hit. If it doesn’t fall off the trees today, they will start to break and fall.

So a concern then. Dang, I’m sorry to hear that! Pretty to a point, then disconcerting, then concerning and worrisome.

I feel your pain- we dodged the bullet with this one.. just barely an inch and it has all melted, just some left from last week’s storm! And my cable is reconnected!!

This one was ugly. And our trees are looking very breakable.

It snowed here too, last night but it’s all gone now. Yes there can be more bad weather in the horizon. March did come in like a lion . Let’s hope it goes out like a lamb.

It’s beautiful — through YOUR windows!
We are having rain off an on this week. Parts of Montecito were under mandatory evacuation again overnight (3rd time), but the order was lifted earlier than expected. We expect three waves of this storm over the next few days (if that’s any prediction for your weather), and then possibly another storm a week away again!
