Ever taken pictures of your pets with a macro lens? Me neither.
But today I was sitting by the computer about to take the SD card out of the camera and stick it in the reader, when I realized Duke was nose-to-nose with me.
He likes that. He particularly likes sticking his wet nose in my ear and sniffing loudly.
So instead of taking out the chip, I leaned back and took a bunch of doggy macros. Even using a macro lens, we were a wee bit too close for comfort, but it was fun. I’m sure Duke enjoyed it. I think he likes having his picture taken.

Duke sent these in as head shots. He’s auditioning for the lead in a remake of “The Greatest Story Ever Told”

I think Duke likes to check out which cologne I’m wearing. Mebbe he’s checking for any morsels left on my face. Good look, kid.

Duke is such a lovely little guy…and there’s something about ears that’s like catnip to dogs. Huny is a fan of the ‘wet willie’ or sticking her tongue in my ear. She also likes to thoroughly wash my ears. Strange little beings aren’t they?

Strange and sometimes, hilarious. I think Duke likes my ears because when he sniffles in one, I laugh and he likes the laughing.

Now, all I need to get is that “pain in the butt” part of his face π

He has a vulnerable look in his eyes too.

He worries that another dog will take his place. I understand his feelings, but I’m hoping he’ll eventually get over them.

That’ll probably take some time…

Yes, Leslie, Duke has plenty of “character”. So did his grandpa, Duke Mantee in “The Petrified Forest”.

You can really see what makes him so … well … cute. He is annoying, obnoxious, and completely adorable. He is a GOOD boy.

I think he was pleased with the shots too, until it got to be dinner time and he felt it was time to give up photo processing and move forward into dog feeding π

Ah, yes — food is more important than a nicely processed photo! These are great!

I was a little too close, but it’s hard to convince your dog to back up a few inches. They seem to feel that the best view is their nose ON the lens.

They are the closest shots I’ve ever taken of any pets. But it was fun and you can REALLY see Duke and his expression in these. He’s a very photogenic dog.

The pscycho looks so adorable. Top of the cute-o-meter. Very nice, indeed.
They’ll use these when he’s booked.
