Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Close ups
There was a time not so long ago when head shots — close-ups — were standardized in black & white. That’s the way they were done.

Possibly, it was because they were typically put in newspapers which were black & white — much less expensive to print for everyone.

Personally, I don’t think the quality of color in newsprint is worth looking at. They should stay with black & white.

I also think that black & white closeups are more interesting and dramatic than color.

The Duke is saying “Don’t mess with me, I’m the boss”, Gibbs is looking very noble saying “He may be the boss but I’m the king” and Bonnie is thinking “Oh dear here they go again”.

Closeups of people bring a better impact in black and white. I like the swan in the first photo. However I like Tonsetzer animals more in their true colours

I suppose it depends on the colors. All my dogs are basic black or black & white, so it doesn’t really matter. They aren’t exactly bright and colorful 🙂
