It’s that time of year again and squares are back!
This is a roof in a non-mansion in little old Uxbridge. I’m just happy nothing has fallen off since I last wrote about it!
Well, the theme is ROOFS (or rooves if you prefer!). Your roof can be;
A – any type, any condition, any size, and in any location.
B – it could be a shot across rooftops, of one roof like today or even a macro
C – you might prefer to spend some time under the eaves and in the attic, or enjoy the view from above as Brian has already done today.
I was going to do another tunnel, but I got pixellated by my roof. In case you didn’t realize it, Garry took this picture. I remember asking him why he took it and he said: “I don’t know, but you’ll find a way to use it.” And I have.
See you tomorrow!

And, of course, Garry was right….

Next, the money. As we age, I have begun to realize we are not getting rich. It’s just not happening. Not this lifetime.

So glad we found a home for it, great roof shot. Albeit not in the Uxbridge I had in mind when I read it was in old Uxbridge!! Yours looks a prettier Uxbridge

All I keep seeing is the crud on the roof, the bent gutter, and that window which doesn’t look good at all. Oh well. Home is where you make lists of things you need to do but can’t possibly afford.

As long as it is watertight and life inside is good I’d say enjoy the character all the defects bring x

If it will just hold itself together as long as we need it! I don’t mind the defects. I worry about it just plain falling down.

Eventually, everything comes in handy. Anything you ever learn will be useful one unexpected day and any shot you take (that’s in focus, anyway) will become an illustration of something. Nothing is really wasted.

It looks sturdy and water tight, that roof. And mansions? Eh. Over-rated. It’s HOME for all y’all. Very nice. I’ll have to see if I have any roof type pics among my photos…

I took some pictures earlier this year of a squirrel on my roof (Which is a popular avenue for them to get between my front and back yard trees), but every single one of them blurred out the squirrel. A good squirrel on a roof photo has been on my wish list for a long time, and it continues to elude me.

‘..not a Beacon Hill Mansion…not owned by the super rich’.
This is on the Uxbridge Visitor’s Guide to Celebrity Mansions: “.. The Husband is reportedly a reclusive, multi-millionare, retired TV News Reporter. The Wife is the center of local society and hostess of 4 star balls. They are the ‘First Family of Uxbridge’ with a full staff of domestic help and top notch lawn crews who keep their gardens in pristine beauty…fulfilling visitor’s dreams’.

They move fast, so you need a long lens — and a FAST lens or just some really good luck. I’ve gotten a tail in focus, squirrel fuzzy. A piece of a squirrel. Never a whole one. But I know they are up there because they periodically chew through our cables.
