  1. I would love to see a Christmas Concert at the Boston Pops….or any concert for that matter. Wonderful photos.

    • Cee, The Pops’ Christmas Concert is an absolute delight. You find yourself humming and singing along with all those beloved songs and music. All worries are checked at the door.

    • I don’t know if the Pops travels. They may. Not at Christmas, though because that is the big season in Boston. But I think other than from November through the beginning of January, they may tour. See if they come to your city. Most orchestras tour and I’m betting the tickets cost a LOT less there than here. We only managed to go because we got free tickets as a gift from a friend. The prices are more than we spend on all the Christmas gifts we give every year. You could buy a new camera for the price of two “not the best” seats at Symphony Hall!

  2. What a challenge. Music always makes me smile. Garry’s photo of the two guys sitting while “fishing” – they aren’t even holding their fishing rods.

  4. I also have a book of original scores from Scott Joplin, my hands should have a few more fingers to play them. The Boston Pops must be quite an experience

    • They are really the Boston Symphony in “fun” mode 😀

    • I can’t play anymore. My hands are so arthritic, it’s seriously painful. Ten minutes of playing, twenty minutes with hand wrapped in ice to bring the swelling down. I finally sold my piano. Someone really WANTED to play it and my keeping it in case arthritis goes away — like THAT’s going to happen — was silly. And it took up room I can use for the organ I never play but can’t get rid of (because no one wants it).

    • Yes, the Boston Pops are quite an experience. I first encountered them when Arthur Fiedler was the conductor. He was a funny fella and a gifted music ambassador, making the Pops accessible to the masses.

As for Scott Joplin, I think we should have another viewing of “The Sting”. It’s been awhile since we watched Henry Gondorf and his crew.
