SEPTEMBER’S GLOWING PINK CUP – Marilyn Armstrong

GLOWING PINK CUP – SEPTEMBER!

So soon September. Tomorrow is Labor Day on which we labor not. But the coffee glows at me in the morning.

I can feel it calling my name all the way down the hall in the bedroom.

Some people drink coffee. I need it.

The glowing cup calls me! I come. I drink. I wake up.

  1. Those tall, thin, metallic thermal cups have become insanely popular in just the last couple years. One of those things that’s baffled me is why, all of a sudden, does everyone from adults to kids need to haul around a cup full of some hot or cold liquid for hours at a time? They were a huge back to school item this year. The only liquid I ever brought to school was in the crappy thermos that came with those bulky cartoon character lunch boxes…

    1. I never even had a lunch box. I had a paper bag. And I never took anything to drink.

I don’t take my cup ANYWHERE. We like to linger over coffee for hours. Sometimes, all day. These Contigo cups (the metal ones, NOT the plastic ones) ACTUALLY keep your coffee hot enough to drink for at least 6 hours and still warm enough 2 hours later. They are way too expensive to take anywhere, especially because if it isn’t physically attached to my body, I will lose it. Also, it has a lid and will not spill coffee on the computer keyboard, so it’s a double whammy. All of the cups in this house, hot or cold, have lids. One lost computer is bad. Two is really expensive.

    2. Squirrel, trying to shake these fried brains — don’t think I had a thermos for school. Had to drink a small carton of milk… served in the school cafeteria. Yech – Milk is not on my “like” list.

      1. No thermos for me in my Roy Rogers lunch Box. Usually a”sammitch” — bologna. Hadda drink those stoopid little cartons of milk from the caf. Aaaargghh. Caf always smelled like over fried beans. Mercy!

      1. I know flowers are so tempting aren’t they. Even I’m doing flowers tomorrow!

I really like the light in this shot, would never have known it was a struggle x
