And finally, the big guys — my son and his friend Dave — came and installed the door. It took months between one thing and another, but it got done. Phew.
Waiting for installation
Preparation
The supervisor checks to make sure it’s being done right
Just about ready
Adjustments
Yup, it’s a door!
Looking out, much better light
Definitely a door!
Don’t forget the dogs
Two doors — one for humans, one for dogs
And finally, painted. Good job, guys. Brilliant guys.
Men at work, door installed, dog door ready. Great job! Thank you and again, thank you!

Great looking door, Marilyn. I want to shake the paw of the supervisor. Maybe someday.

It looks terrific, the guys did an excellent job. Definitely, a two-man job though I’d say. Looks like a heavy door. A handy son is definitely a plus.

And think that was his last heavy job. After this, I have to find younger people. He’s hitting 50 and he’s tired too.

Sue, I love it when two or more try to squeeze through the door at the same time. It’s like that old Marx Brothers routine.

Lovely door. I like the color!!!

Barn red. The good thing about the color is that everyone has it. It’s the classic color for barns — and doors — in New England 🙂 We’ve always had a red door. I suggested another color, but Owen pointed out that we’d ALWAYS had a red door, even in the houses we had in New York so why change now? I couldn’t argue. Red door it was!

It needs finishing, but I like it. A lot more light comes in than it did in the old one.

Bonnie is a great supervisor. She has a keen eye for shoddy work and keeps the workers on a tight leash.
