SQUARE AND SPIKY MARCH DAYS – 2 – Marilyn Armstrong

Day Two of March Spiky Squares!

March. Snow fell last night and tonight, another bigger storm is on the way and we aren’t getting out of this house until Monday afternoon. After the plow comes through. I hope.

Blooming cactus
Even the flower is spiky
Spiky forever!

And after that, the deep cold. So … here are a couple of spiky pictures of my blooming cactus. It’s the least I can do for those locked in by the weather.

Now, these are spiky! But these are, after all, cactus.

Happy spiky, jagged, pointy, bristly, serrated, prickly, spiny, and barbed’ squares!

    1. It’s just winter. Late, but winter. March really IS a winter month, despite technical spring showing up at the end of the month. I think of it as spring, but around here, it’s usually a cold, snowy month. Like this year.

  1. Now that looks like an Easter cactus (Rhipsalidopsis gaetneri) with the spiky stem edges. I have the other type, the Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera bridgesii) with rounder stems. Mine is flowering now too! For some odd reason it has been in bud for months but only just begun to open them! Lovely images, I struggle to capture mine well.
