RDP Thursday – TEMPERATURE
“Oh, the temperature outside is shocking …” and it really is. Really really cold, though it’s supposed to go up into the 40s over the weekend. I hope so. Because nothing is melting.

I don’t think I’ve seen a close up of your mailbox before. Are those both yours? They really do have those little red flag things.

No, the other one is the neighbor across the street. Our is the one squashed down by a plow. We’ll have to prop it up again when the snow melts. The little red flag when it’s upright is supposed to tell the mail carrier to stop and collect your mail. They NEVER stop. Ever. But every mailbox has flag. Maybe in some other place they actually do stop.

I wondered why it was so much lower.

Snow plow must have hit it. It’s probably completely off it’s post and we’ll have to fix it, but we can’t until the snow melts.

Why did our mailbox get squashed and not our neighbor’s? Blatantly racist!

Well, not yet for us, but in another month … maybe. Truly, we live in hope.

Ruth, that’s Norman Bates weather.

You have a ridiculous amount of snow there, Marilyn. Do the dogs try to escape now that their fences have turned into little hills? I don’t know how you get a single thing done in winter. Stay warm.

There isn’t enough for the scotties to get out and the Duke jumps the fence whenever he feels like it. The only think I get done in the winter are blogs and photographing birds. And even that seems to be getting to be too much.

Time for a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate, and a good movie, Marilyn.

I feel like I should bathe in the hot chocolate.

Yes, a classic old movie is usually the ticket for me — good, bad or ugly.

Not sure how we managed it, going from 4 ft of snow to nothing and within two days, ugly ass beatles the like of which I’ve never seen before showing up. Ugh!

That happens here, too. The minute the snow melts, the ants and ticks are hopping.

I don’t get it, it’s minus still.

I thought they at least hibernated, but these ones, well, it started snowing again yesterday, a skiff, it disappeared into the woodwork so to speak.

As utterly beautiful these pixs are, this feels awful too – you must despair – alone in your hidden house with tons of the white stuff. Keep warm and cozy up with a hot tea and something to make the time pass.

It’s a lot of snow. We’ve had worse, but this is pretty bad.

That is serious snow! Beautiful, though…

It is beautiful, but it’s heavy and wet and poor Garry’s back is breaking. I get tired looking at it.

Yes, I am feeling my age after the snow shoveling. Boo-hoo.

Thankfully here it doesn’t hang around long enough to need to shift much of it.

Leslie, the dogs have changed the color of the snow in their front yard. Any more info is TMI.

It’s frigid here too. The forecast is this is winter’s last blast.

We really ARE on the same weather pattern. Depending on which way the wind is blowing depends on who gets it first.

It suppose to warm up on the weekend. Either you send it to me or I’ll send it to you. 😉

Yeah, but we’re going to get in order on Sunday: SNOW, SLEET, FREEZING RAIN … then RAIN. Oh goody. Which one do you want first?

We’ll get it too….I’m cleaning cupboards and ignoring it all.

Leslie, hopefully it’s winter’s last hurrah. But I wouldn’t bet the house on it.

Yes, it really IS a lot of snow. It is supposed to warm up soon. I sure hope so. It’s hard getting around.

Yes, a lot of snow. It’s bone chilling cold. I was wearing my Marine Corps winter jacket with a fleece-lined vest under it. I could still feel the cold. I inadvertently shot in “movie mode” as I shot pics. My fingers were numb – even wearing “glubs”.
