Birdy, Squirrelly, Snowy, Square, and Spiky – 8
The world? It is full of birds, squirrels, and snow.
The photographs? All square and spiky.
The month is March.
Remarkably, it will be officially Spring in a few weeks.
Hard to believe, isn’t it?
Happy spiky, jagged, pointy, bristly, serrated, prickly, spiny, and barbed’ squares!

That squirrel is really give you THE LOOK….
Squirrels have some really good claws for gripping things. I mean, I’ve caught a picture of them hanging upside down in trees 100 feet high by just their two feet. Squirrels were velcro before velcro was invented…

I love the one hanging on with his rear legs only. I think that’s on another page. They ALL have scars, some serious ones. They are at the bottom of the food chain with the chipmunks, bunnies, rats and mice.

Me too. And apparently, so do the hawks, fishers, foxes, and coyotes. They are all scarred. My son pointed out that these are the bottom of the local food chain — along with chipmunks, rats, and mice. That’s probably why they mostly stay in the trees. It’s safer up there.

We have another storm tomorrow … and maybe after that? Winter lingers in these parts.

Becky, bite your tongue for even suggesting THAT…..could easily happen here. We have clear memories of winter ignoring the “get out of town” mandate. Winter can be very stubborn here in New England. She doesn’t suffer fools or arrogance.

Sorry!!!!! I suddenly had recalled a bad one in northern California which surprised us as visitors in April, but put those recollections back in a box and am now thinking lovely warm thoughts and spring days.

Hairy really wants to get at those seeds. But you need a beak!

We just got a mere dusting down here yesterday. My sib calls it a “sugar snow” — enough to highlight but not enough to cause a problem walking around.

I like that kind. Pretty photograph, gone before lunch!

It’s after lunch and ours is still here. I wouldn’t call it sugar snow either.

Ours is due tomorrow. I get a headache thinking about it. Also, it’s getting REALLY expensive cleaning the driveway. At $50 a hit ($100 for more than 12 inches) … well … add it up!

Your squirrels need to go a diet. How about bird food lite?
