Pink Christmas Cactus – FOTD β 04/03/2019
Having just recovered from a major blooming of the scarlet Christmas Cactus, the pink one is coming into a heavy bloom of its own. Unlike the red one, it only threw a few flowers in season, but now it’s got a lot of buds, one flower fully in bloom and another about to burst for tomorrow.

You certainly do have a green thumb for Christmas cacti! These are beautiful.

Truly, I do absolutely nothing. I think they just like the light.

I also meant to say that you ALMOST make me like your Christmas cacti…. π

I really don’t DO anything. Probably what they like is the light and that I don’t do anything to them. They like being left alone.

I’m most definitely not a cactus person. I think my taste for them waned when my ex ONCE brought me ‘flowers’…. I unpacked quivering with delight and it was a cactus! He added to his gift: You deserve it π

And someday, I’m going to get that shade of pink. I’ve tried three different cameras, but they all turn it rather more red than it is. It has turned out to be a very difficult color to capture.

I have a pink one and they don’t seem to flower as well as the red ones. However, mine has made a few new leaves and I havn’t given up. It seems to be quite happy at the moment, but I do not think it feels like flowering. Perhaps I should try the Google Dutch Tulip method

I think the day I need software to grow plants I start going with fakes. Nice silk ones. No water needed. Always in bloom. Just dust them now and then.

I couldn’t get the color quite right. Pink is a really hard color. It either comes out too pale or too red. But the plant really IS lovely.
