    1. That’s because we have a LOT of rivers! Every years or two, a bridge gets bad enough to need repair and we discover how much we need bridges! A two-mile drive becomes a 10-mile drive when you have to find a different bridge to cross!

    1. From wooden footbridges to highway bridges. And at least one railroad bridge. A couple of times since we’ve moved here, a bridge needed to be removed and replaced and we really learned how important bridges are in this valley. There were places we didn’t even try to go because, without bridges, they were a long, long drive.
