HURRY, HURRY, HURRY – Marilyn Armstrong

FOWC with Fandango — Hurry

Hurry! Today’s our last chance for this great deal!

Hurry! If you don’t pay by Friday, you might lose your payment plan!

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! This is your last chance, your final opportunity!

Everything has to be done now. This minute. Immediately. The bank has to get that bill paid this minute because if they wait 30 minutes, they will charge you extra … sometimes, a lot extra.

Don’t ever stop running because the world is chasing you! But don’t worry. One day, you’ll die and then, they can chase you forever, but you will never get caught.

  1. And I thought you were telling off WP again, because I’m sure as heck VERY peeved off by them. In mails they offer me special deals (as if I had a blog) and at the same time I have to sign-in on EVERY single blog I’m commenting on, even though the right hand column is showing up with my icon….!

  2. I especially dislike the sales pitch where the telephone salesperson tells you they need your decision right away. I tell them that in that case, my decision is no. I refuse to be hurried into buying something without considering all my options, like whether I actually need it. These days I generally hang up on these people before they start.

    • I was always told that too. If anyone asks for an instant decision and it isn’t a life or death emergency, the answer it automatically NO. I have not always followed that advice.

  4. I never wanted a faster connection in Internet, it is fast enough, every improvement seems to be based on speed. Since my mobility is going down hurrying no longer applies.

    • I can’t hurry either and you really can’t rush me. I don’t rush. All this started because I got a bill for electricity three time higher than it should be — and when I called them, their SYSTEM was down. When I called back, they said “Oh, they forgot to apply the money I sent at the beginning of the month … and forgot to update my plan amount … and forgot that my payment isn’t due until the first …

They fixed it. i was so pissed off.

  5. That’s the downside of being able to access everything electronically. No longer can we say, “The check’s in the mail” and expect that to buy some time. It also makes it very difficult to deal with clients and bosses who simply can’t understand why you haven’t yet responded to the email they sent two minutes ago. I don’t want the world to stop so I can get off (to misquote an old musical title), but I certainly would like things to slow down a bit.

  6. So right. This false sense of urgency is going to get us nowhere ( pun intended)
