DAYLILIES WITH BUDS – Marilyn Armstrong

FOTD – July 5, 2019 – Daylily

It’s definitely the season of the daylilies. They really are everywhere. I keep trying to find new ways to take pictures of daylilies that don’t look exactly like the last set of daylilies, but so far … well … they look like daylilies. In particular, the leggy tall ones we grow locally.

    1. These lilies get really huge. Tall too. And they make a really hard clump underground that’s very hard to break apart, even with a shovel. Mine are particularly big and hardy. They’ve driven out almost all the other plants, too!

        1. I’ve more or less given up. I can’t get into the garden at this point. It’s packed with lilies and weeds and vines that seem to have come out of nowhere. And what I need (Owen has one but I need him to bring it over) is a long-handled cutter. I can’t reach a lot of things. You know, we actually built paths when we created the garden, but they are completely overgrown.
