BACKYARD DAYLILIES – Marilyn Armstrong

Backyard Daylilies – FOTD – July 13, 2019

Although I’ve taken a lot of front yard daylilies, I’m not kidding when I tell you they are blooming everywhere. Our entire backyard is full of them, too. You can also see our repainted deck.

The summer heat has hit … and Garry picked up the same stomach bug I’ve got and is not feeling at all well. Amazingly, now that he feels really lousy, he has become surprisingly sympathetic to how I feel. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Vacation is deferred. I’m hoping we’ll pull out of this soon enough to actually still take one, but for now, Garry is in no shape to drive any distance. I don’t think he’s in any condition to drive into town, much less inter-state.

Backyard Daylilies!

Meanwhile, we’ve been living entirely on bananas, rice, ginger ale, and chicken broth. It’s not very interesting, but at least I’m not sick every time I take a bite of something. Well, I am, but I’m not AS sick as I was before.

No cooking going on in this house right now!

    1. Me too. Once I realized I didn’t have some bizarre new illness but was just having a bout of what everyone else in town has got, I at least realized I wasn’t dying of something. This, at least, will go away. Eventually. If Garry doesn’t give it back to me, that is. I hate it when we keep trading whatever is going around.

    1. At least it’s a no-big-deal virus. Until I realized a lot of other people had the same thing, I was wondering what new disease I had developed. I’m REALLY tired of being sick. If I find it boring, it must be even worse for everyone else.

    1. I knew I was in no shape to go traveling. I had the diagnosis completely wrong, but I felt really cruddy and that’s not a time to be away from home and doctors and your own bed. When Garry came down with it, everything was suddenly clear!

    1. We are both a lot better than we were, but not quite up to snuff yet. Very tired. I think that may have something to do with not eating real food for a week. Garry’s a trifle wobbly. Me too. I’m surprised it’s taking us so long to shake this. But the years do march on.
