AUGUST: DOG AND OTHER DAYS – Marilyn Armstrong

August 2012 through 2019

A little photographic journey around the northeastern end of the American continent.

Rockport, Massachusetts at sunrise

I didn’t have a single fire pump for Cee’s challenge, so I went back through seven years of August. From Glocester to Rockport, from Connecticut to Maine … these are the hot, humid, hazy days of late summer in New England.

  1. These are the photos that are going to come to mind in the middle of winter (especially Rockport, Massachusetts at sunrise) the sheer beauty of the summer.

  2. What a glorious collection of August photos….. The only ‘pump’ I could think of right now was a fire hydrant I saw out of the car many years ago. I remember it clearly because I was screaming to my family: Oh loook, a deer …. and my family laughed because it was said fire hydrant. I then didn’t realise just HOW bad my eyesight was already at that time! 🙂

  4. Those are some cracking August photos. I think I am going to luck out on fire hydrants too. I don’t believe I’ve ever photographed one so unless I see one in the next few days and it’s not pouring with rain at the time I think I will be a pass.

    • Well, I washed out (so to speak) on the whole fire pump thing. We don’t have town water. We all have individual pumps so they have to bring a pumping truck. But I had 7 years of Augusts 😀
