I feel personally wounded that so many would care so little about this nation.
It’s worse than gunning down an innocent bystander on 5th Avenue in New York City and getting away with it. Donald J. Trump and his Republican Party sycophants are about to deal a death blow to the American Experiment of government, built for the people of our country, held accountable by a checks-and-balances system, and defended by patriotic men and women on battlefields at home and abroad for more than 240 years.
The heartbeat of our once great republic is on life support today, thanks in large part to U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), who announced last night that he does not want to hear from witnesses with first-hand knowledge of Trump’s abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Alexander attempted to justify his lack of courage to stand up to Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s bullying tactics. His spineless reasoning should haunt him and his constituents for…

Marilyn, Leonard Cohen wrote, that America was in need of a Spiritual renewal, that it could not continue the way it was, using up too much of the worlds resources. Maybe Donald is the turning point in that decay, that had men manipulating the economics of the world to favor the few at the expense of the rest of us. Too much was hidden away for too long, many acted like they were untouchable, the choice non existent, so many having to put up with it. Hopefully, the lessons will be learned, having to have your laundry washed in public is humbling I know, but how can you tolerate a banking system that created technologies, that stole legally for years, without fear. If it happened in another country, you’d call it tyranny, have a great weekend, at least there are signs of recovery, amen

You know, I hope that turns out to be true. I’m not seeing it, frankly. All I’m seeing are a lot of people following someone who has no good points. No conscience, no soul. No compassion.

it’s true Marilyn, but who can understand all the changes, there seems to be a lot of anger and resentments that were bubbling below the surface for a long time, maybe Donald is a form of catharsis, allowing us to vent our opinions, on everything that needs fixing, as if to say, how did we put him in there, as to say, we might do things different next time around. Hope your weekend goes well, amen

I am really hoping you are right. Much of the best parts of my life have sprung from the worst parts. Maybe this is what it take to get us all involved again. I sure do hope so.

I actually agree with you when I’m not brooding about the unfairness of our government. I am hoping against hope that many people recognize that Trump wasn’t merely an unfortunate choice, but a really terrible choice for real people and for the nation, and our position in the world. He is a cautionary tale and if we can’t learn from this, maybe we are hopeless and can never learn.
I keep thinking we must have a bottom line, a level to which we won’t go. A level of evil we can’t allow, especially at such a high level of government. I guess we’ll see.

when the Pandora’s box opens, it all comes out, it’s the story of old, what is hidden is brought to the light, then we can apply what we learned, without trying to blame someone else, as the great spin doctors and propagandists have been doing since the arrival of Jesus, over 2020 years ago. Its not called 2020 vision for nothing, have a great week

We are supposed to learn from our errors but we never seem to do that. It used to be every 50 years we forgot the past. Now it’s every month.

Throughout our lives, things have been heading in this direction. Politics have become more like advertising than truth-telling. If we continue to only buy the package without reading the contents label, we will get what we pay for … which is neither what we need nor want. I know history goes round and round, but I am pretty sure I won’t live to see the new updated version.
