I have to admit that I have a great many Goldfinches. They show up at the feeder in flocks. Sometimes, I look outside and they are not only all over all the feeders, but they are also waiting in the branches, sitting on the railing, and on top of all the feeders.
So, rather than yet one more detailed picture of Goldfinches, I made these two pictures as artistic I could. These really came out looking sort of like paintings. I hope I remember how I did them.
I should have saved the components. I used about eight different filters, did a lot of cropping, and went through a huge number of remix formulae before I came up with this. Reproducing the effect could be interesting. On the upside, I like them. They look as much like paintings as I could create with software and photographs.

That yellow reminds me of spring. Our groundhog didn’t see his shadow so we are suppose to be in for an early spring. (Just like I said)

Well, the groundhog can only be half right or wrong. My guess is it’ll be like last year when we get hit by weather just about when it should be spring. March and April snow? Why not?

Me too. I remember most of it and I can probably figure out the rest. I sure hope so.

I think these are the most painterly I’ve ever done. I just kept working on them until they looked the way I wanted. FINALLY.

I wish I was. But I am working on it. I’m trying to make graphic and painterly pictures that aren’t so crazy they’ve lost the original concept. It’s kind of delicate work too. I do them, and then I revert the photo and start over But I’m working on it. Eventually, I’ll even know what I’m doing!

I’m sure you will get to the point where you’re satisfied with it. To me these look amazing.

I like them too. If I can repeat the result, I’ll feel like I’ve accomplished something. Also, this effect may only work well on things that are largely yellow. I may need a different final “Look” for other colors.
