A Photo a Week Challenge: Tower
A major shortage of towers has thwarted the return of Rapunzel. Maybe in Boston, though horses have a hard time on the packed street. Out here, where horses live, there just aren’t many towers. Not even that many in Boston, with a few notable exceptions. Around here, a “tower” rarely exceeds four stories. Some Victorian houses are taller than that.

We don’t really have anything that tall down where I live. Towers can look quite majestic from a distance but I wouldn’t really want to live or work in one.

These don’t look like bad towers, Marilyn. The one from the top of the habor is lovely.

Yes, that’s Boston. There are a couple of beautiful ones in Boston including the old Clock Tower which is right on Boston Harbor. But we don’t live in Boston anymore — we are more the 70 miles west in Worcester Country — and towers here (except for the one in Worcester) are pretty rare.

I don’t know Worcester Country but I do know Boston. I haven’t been there but I have read a lot about it.

Boston fancies itself as much more important than it is. It always has. Before it got so overcrowded, it was a nice city to live in. Sort of like New York, but much more accessible. Now? It’s one gigantic traffic nightmare. Smaller than NY and LESS accessible.
