I don’t have anything raging through my mind, so I thought this might be a good time to show off my favorite bird pictures for 2020. There isn’t a lot of good stuff going on. Most of us haven’t gone anywhere. We haven’t had any parties or gone on vacation or had out-of-town company. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, many of us are out of work and broke. We’re bummed, feeling kind of glum, while hoping it will get better.
I refuse to listen to people who want to warn me about upcoming disasters. I’m in the middle of a current disaster and do not need prophecies of disasters to come. Also, it’s a jinx. I won’t listen. I’m going to believe that somehow, it will work out. Not necessarily easily, but we’ll get there. Don’t tell me we won’t. I don’t want to hear it even if it turns out to be true.
Garden Birds
Woodpeckers
Tomorrow, I’ll do critters – squirrels that fly, squirrels that hang around, tiny chipmunks, and of course, raccoons.

Those slide shows were AMAZING! I miss the mourning doves that lived in my old neighborhood. I’ve seen a few here, but the bigger, predator birds usually scare them off quickly. How beautiful a part of the world you live in!

We do have a very handsome bird collection. Right now, it’s all sparrows and woodpeckers, but sometimes it mostly finches, yellow and red ones. It’s fascinating watching the change as the months pass.

Thank you. I actually printed it and hung it on the wall. It’s the first picture I’ve liked that much in years.

Thanks! As soon as I snapped the shot I knew it was a good one. Sometimes you see it and you just say YES! I GOT IT! I had it printed and framed — and that’s the first picture I’ve done that with in years.

Shots like that are a combination of luck and really fast reflexes. Or, what I did is when they are doing something, just keep shooting and hope for the best!
