Kinda Glorious – Photos by Garry Armstrong
It was a beautiful day. I got my flu shot, we voted … and then we took pictures of foliage because this is peak. The wind blew away a lot of leaves, but what are left are kinda glorious.
I should mention that we didn’t get the “senior” flu shots because no one has any. There’s a national waiting list at all pharmacies. The current advice is get a flu shot. The regular (not the stronger) one is better than nothing.

It has been kinda glorious up here in NH the last few days. I voted at the end of last week, but no flu shot yet (my wife works with people more than I do, so already received hers). Nice photos. I hope you enjoy this bit of autumn!

Trent, enjoying THIS day (Thursday). Kinda mild and sunny. YAY!
I get my flu shot tomorrow and a general checkup to see if all the parts are working okay.

I really like the one of across the road. About the flu shot, we were told last year when we had the option of either, that the regular one is actually better unless you have a compromised immune system (I think that was it) and then the super one is better. The regular one covers more stains. We always get them and think they help.

Pat, thanks.
I hope you’re right about the flu shot. Seems I always get “something” right after the flu shot. Maybe it’s Murphy’s law. Anyway, here’ to the flu shot working. I’ll need something else if we watch tonight’s debate.

Lovely pictures, Garry. I love the colours. I didn’t know there was a different flu shot for seniors.

This is the best autumn we’ve had in three years. I thought the lack of rain would be a problem, but obviously it isn’t. And it still looks like that today. It is holding up very well.

I’m glad, Marilyn, that you are having a nice autumn before the winter sets in. A small natural reward after the past few months of difficulties.

Thanks, Roberta. Yes, there IS a different shot for the elderly. We got it last year. This year, it’ll just be the regular one. Fingers crossed.

When we get a good autumn, we get a GREAT autumn. This it New England’s “real” season and if it could stay like this all year round, I’d be very happy.

We visited New England every year when hubby’s family lived there.

When I lived in Israel, I always came back in October. It the month to be here. Besides, I no longer owned a heavy overcoat.

I envy you your glorious landscape. Thank you for sharing the beauty with me, there is a bit of color here this year, more than last at least, but not that tremendous blaze and variety that you have where you are! Autumn at last, hmm?

Autumn is our season. When you see movies and TV shows about New England, they are always shot in the fall. The colors are amazing and on a good year — of which this is one — it can last for weeks!

Melanie, we are so LUCKY to have this beauty all around us. Wish we could push a “stay” button.

Its about time. The last two years were total duds.

Kiki, the foliage is almost like those people who used to pester us when I was working, “Hey, Mister–take our picture!” No problem with foliage. Great attitude.

We needed this. It has been so a wretched year, a good autumn makes up for a lot.

Beth, these are the days I try to remember when the dreaded season that follows does its “thing”

Kinda stunning I say, and what a positive day too!

Almost perfect weather, too. Okay, just a little rain and mostly at night. I love when all the rain is overnight, so everything is wet in the morning. When I look through the window, everything is STILL glowing!

Sometimes, he is better. He’s faster on the trigger than I am, so he catches things I miss. I get slowed down by trying for perfection. He takes the shot. If it comes out, great, but at least he took the picture. I think if you can’t take good photos in the fall in New England, you are hopeless. It’s just so beautiful.

Becky, you’re right on all counts. A+ for Mother Nature. Best news of the day and surely better than whatever we get from tonight’s debate.

I think our incessant heat waves have finally broken — it’s honest-to-gosh cloudy today, and they say we might even get some drizzle over the weekend! Next week back up to high 70’s, low 80’s, but that’s 20 degrees better than triple digits!
