Fortunate Son
For 45, who obviously has not listened to the words of this 1969 song, we share this country-rock classic. You missed all the fuss? The orange one is playing the song at his rallies and the songwriter, John Fogerty, objects. His lawyer has sent the Trump campaign a cease and desist letter.
“The fact that Mr. Trump fans the flames of hatred, racism and fear while rewriting recent history, is even more reason to be troubled by his use of my song,” the singer-songwriter wrote in a Tweet.
The song was released in September 1969 as the B side of “Down on the Corner.” It became a hit in its own right and the double-sided hit made it to number 3 on the Billboard chart in December.
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don’t they help themselves, oh
But when the tax men come to the door
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no millionaire’s son, no, no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no fortunate one, no
Vote November 3rd.

When you are going to play it at your rally, at least have someone explain it to you before you prove what a total moron you really are.

So that’s who Don Jr was talking about when he said, “People are truly morons.” His own father. I should have known….

It’s a great song and could have been written about Trump but he is too dumb to get it. I believe that he’s played other songs at his rallies and been asked by the artists to stop it too. Can’t think who at present though.

It is quite an impressive list. Aerosmith (2 songs), Adele (2 songs), George Harrison Estate, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Guns and Roses, Eddy Grant (Electric Avenue), Leonard Cohen Estate and at least 15 others that I counted. Apparently Cease and Desist letters meean little to the orange menace.

I was sure Bruce Springsteen was one, Didn’t realise it was that many. Nope, he doesn’t care and is too stupid to figure out that many of the songs lyrics don’t support him anyway.

Some of them would be absolutely against him. He is not fooling us.

I know the words are hard to understand, but you can find the lyrics easily online. Aside from being a mean bigoted bastard, he’s also amazingly dumb.

Considering this was written by a guy who had to go off to war and Cadet Bone Spurs didn’t, this is even more amazing. It was somewhat of an anti-war song.

Maybe he liked the tune, but didn’t get the words.

It’s hard to believe that he could so totally misunderstand the song. It’s so anti-45! I do love Credence!
