Last photo for October 2020

Yesterday it snowed all day, but today, between early in the morning and mid-morning, it melted away. Actually, the meltdown took less than an hour. When I got up, everything was completely covered with snow. Before the coffee was poured, the snow was falling off the trees in huge lumps and you could see the autumn leaves through the snow.

This was the last of the snow. A few minutes later, it was completely gone.

And the sun came out, the sky turned blue and winter will have to wait at least another week or two. Take your time, Jack Frost. I’m happy to wait! I didn’t have much to do for this picture. The only thing I did was reduce the size and sign it. It’s hard to take a bad picture of autumn in New England.

  1. So pretty. It’s hard to imagine that you’ve already had snowfall. We’ve only got some rain this morning in Singapore.

  2. Only a few flakes fluttered here… No complaints! The real stuff is sure to come. So long October, Happy November, Marilyn!

    • They told us we were getting MAYBE a dusting. We got six inches. In October. It’s still pretty cold, but by Wednesday, it’ll be back in the 70s. Good. I need some fall weather. At least a week or two, though COVID is back in our area, so we have to be very very careful.

  3. Wonderful mix of fall and winter there! 🙂

  4. Love the colours and the contrast of snow. Great image for the last day of October Marilyn 🙂

    • Thank you 😀 We almost never get snow before late November and if we get any in September or October, it’s usually just a brushing of light snow. This snow was completely unexpected and not predicted. I’m glad it melted away. I’m so NOT ready for winter yet!

  5. Brrr — it’s going to be in the upper 80’s here for a few days next week!

    • It’ll be back in the 70s by the middle of next week. We weren’t supposed to get half a foot of snow. Not that early. Occasionally we get a light dusting in September or October, but nothing that serious. And it was NOT predicted. They said “Maybe you’ll get a light dusting, but probably not.” Forecasts have been very inaccurate recently. The winds and ocean currents have changed too much.
