I always tell people you can always find a picture to take if you have a camera and an imagination. The other day, for no reason (except that it was pouring outside), I wandered around the house with my fastest lens — a Sigma 30mm f1.4 and took pictures of this, that, and that other thing. So here are a bunch of pictures of whatever was going on in my house for that half hour. After that, I put down the camera and downloaded the cd card.
Note: The “garland” around the black Scottie figurine is sweet grass which I wove years and year ago — maybe 15 year ago and it has stayed alive through all these years.

I do the same thing! And I just did it at the tiny studio we just entered for 2 nights and that we rented ‘just to get away for 2 days’…. I took pics from the merest details, so that I wouldn’t forget, that I could associate my feelings of the moment later on when my brain was in overdrive or near dead…. I also take pics to put on my status on WApp, they disappear after 24hrs of posting and that’s another good thing.

It’s good for memories. But it’s also interesting to look for odd places that we see all the time, but never really LOOK at, not carefully anyway. Some of these places are just too hard to photograph. Too dark, too busy. But if there’s enough light and you can find a place to stand (and the right lens), there are interesting pictures lurking in corners 😀

We’re kinda locked in these days so taking a second, maybe third look, around the house is a way to see the house and surrounding grounds in a new way.., not to mention keeping your hobby alive.
