A GOLDEN JACKSON CHRISTMAS – RICH PASCHALL

Jackson 5 Christmas Album, by Rich Paschall

Fifty years ago the Jackson 5 Christmas Album spent all of December as the number one selling Christmas album according to Billboard. In 1972 it regained that claim as the best-selling Christmas album. It was a critical success and has sold over 3.5 million copies. Its popularity was aided by singles that found their way onto radio station playlists and helped to boost the recognition. This was the height of success for the Motown group. The Jackson 5 Christmas Album was their fourth studio album.

Little Michael Jackson stole the show with Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.

The two singles were so popular that they remain on station playlists 50 years later. You may still hear them on your car radio or in the malls, assuming that you get out to the malls this year.

You may also still be hearing One Day At Christmas. These songs are turning 50 and are Christmas Gold.
