AND THE DAILY WORD IS “TRANSITION!”

TRANSITION!

Could I have ever imagined that this simple word would take on such a profound meaning? Finally. At long last. T**** lost. T**** is leaving.  We’ve not going back to “the old days,” but at least we are going to be able to stand up and shake off the sewage of the past four yours.

Let us all remember, however, in case we feel we are guiltless in this and T**** was the cause of all disasters  and horrors that this is not true. Not guiltless, much of what he brought to fruition was ready to bloom. The ugliness and hatred have always been there. When T**** was elected they got exactly what they wanted.

T**** is who you get when you set the train off the tracks then try to drive it anyway. This is who you get when you let hate fester, do nothing to deal with it. This is what you get when you make pretty pictures out of the worst things we ever did as a nation. T**** is who you get and this catastrophe is what you live with.

Tomorrow begins the transition. It’s our last chance to try to get it right. I hope we have it in us to really get it done. If we don’t, I question whether we’ll have a world for the next generation.

  1. It feels like there is hope and possibility again. As you so accurately note, we’ve a very long way to go and a great deal to attend to. AND WE CAN DO IT! If only we’re brave enough to see it, If only we’re brave enough to do it. The young can lead us through.

  2. WordPress is not letting me like posts again. I managed to check the news at 4am this morning to find that I’d missed the swearing in by a few minutes . Still I’m hoping that this will be the start of better things for my American friends.
