MY FUNNY VALENTINE – RICH PASCHALL

What should you buy? by Rich Paschall

Should you buy chocolate? Perhaps flowers would be a better choice. Or maybe you should get both. It is so hard to say. You could always have a candlelight dinner with a bottle of French something. It is just so hard to decide which during Global Pandemic, Year Two.

You would need help to carry this home.

My funny valentine
Sweet comic valentine
You make me smile with my heart

Maybe there is no going out yet, so you could order in. What shall you get? I like Italian food from the restaurant on the corner. They have limited capacity, but I could accept delivery. Do you have a favorite spot? In these troubled times maybe a market run would be smarter to pick up some favorites for the day. Would you be willing to prepare something special?

Eat local, drink local

Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet you’re my favorite work of art

Watching a movie together might work this year. You could order up a romantic comedy or pop one into the DVD player. If you can’t agree on one, how about an old favorite? Casablanca? Before Sunrise?  When Harry Met Sally? A musical? West Side Story?

But don’t change your hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little valentine stay
Each day is Valentines day

I will attempt a little Spanish and John will laugh at me. It’s the best I can do.

  1. I have a nice piano arrangement for that song. It’s a classic. Happy Valentines Day Rich.

  2. I really like the song. I used to have a recording of Johnny Mathis singing it. It was one of his best.
