THE LIGHTEST GREEN IS ALMOST GOLD

CMMC – April Color – Light Green or Neon Green

Nothing Gold Can Stay

By Robert Frost – 1874-1963

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Trailing philodendron
The lightest green really is gold
This is the light green time of year

    • You are welcome. It’s the perfect time of year for it, not counting today and tomorrow. It’s cold and wet and not at all spring-like right now. By the weekend, though, it should be better. I’m counting on it. Anyway, we really need the rain. When we were down by the river, it was shockingly low, especially for this time of year when we used to get floods — back in the days when we also got rain and snow melt.

    • Thanks. My macro lens and I are really having a great few months. I think the camera it’s on is beginning to die. It’s my oldest “good” camera. It was used when I bought it. Since then it has been used relentlessly day in and out, mostly for macros by me and Garry. I keep the macro lens on it all the time these days. It no longer goes on excursions.

      Nothing lasts forever. Well, TODAY nothing lasts forever. Old film cameras lasted forever if you took care of them. AND you could repair them when they broke. Electronic stuff doesn’t last half as long. But of course, we also don’t have to pay to develop the film. I suppose I’d rather not have to pay for film and developing than have a longer lasting camera.

      I wouldn’t mind a DIGITAL camera that lasted longer. I’m told that the Leica and Hasselblad cameras NASA buys last as close to forever as you can get. And they are hooked to satellites and planet-rovers. They also cost more than my house, car, and everything in it.
