MYRON HEALY WANTS A DRINK

CBWC: Faces In Things

In this case, the faces were in our television. My husband is not merely a movie maven. He is also seriously hooked on old western movies and television shows. This was an old episode of Cheyenne. Made in the mid 1950s in glorious black & white. Garry also has favorite character actors. These are faces that you’ve seen in a thousand TV shows and movies, but whose names you never learned and if you did, don’t remember.

Myron Healy is a favorite actor of this type and in this brief series of photographs taken by me from our television straight to you — from Cheyenne (the original series) — he really wants a drink. I had to add some of my own captions. I could not help myself.

I’m not sure this is what you expected, but I was trying to figure out what to do with these pictures and suddenly, this opportunity appeared.

And it was all shot right here, in Arizona. Isn’t there a face in the clouds? If there isn’t there ought to be.

  2. I LOVE WESTERNS, TOO. MANY YEARS AGO THERE USED TO BE A MOVIE THEATER IN HOLLYWOOD THAT SHOWED ONLY B AND C WESTERNS. I USED TO GO WHENEVER I GOT THE CHANCE.

    • Garry is totally hooked. I think he owns more westers than TMC has on their shelves. Pity we lost all our old tapes (flooding) because he had some on tape that you can’t find anymore. Myron Healy is an old favorite character actor whose face everyone knew but whose name nobody remembered. But that’s okay. At least he kept working.

  3. Yep, looks like one-eyed Jack in the cloud. The cactus seems to waving at him or signaling to him.

    • It signaled to us, too. Every time we got near one, it attached itself to some of our clothing. We dragged pieces of cactus everywhere we went — and we went to a lot of places in Arizona. We may, if the gods be on our side, get out there once more.
