The last time I saw palm trees was in Arizona. I can’t imagine how they are doing — if they are surviving — the extreme heat and dryness this year, but I hope they will live through this terrible drought and heat dome.

The one saving grace this season is that we are experiencing an unusual amount of humidity. Hopefully that extra moisture, in the air, will offset the reduced moisture from the ground. My giant Eucalyptus tree in the side yard is flourishing like it was drinking a river. We all have our fingers crossed, and anything else crossable, that our vegetation will survive the summer.

I’m hoping too! We just got a whole summer’s worth of rain today having been hit by a tropical storm. I think (finally) our drought might be over, at least for this year. Got all MY fingers crossed for you, too.

Droughts are too awful, Marilyn. I hope the trees do survive.

We are getting a lot of rain here, this year. It’s the most we’ve gotten in about ten years, but in the southwest (the other side of the country), the drought is truly terrible and combined with the heat … well, it’s very bad.
