“Stand strong,” said the tree. “Come what may. In all the seasons, through storm and wind, rain and blizzard, stand strong. Be there for the creatures that live in your branches, that nest in your leaves.”
“And we,” said the grass and the reeds, “Will be by your side. At your roots. Green and peaceful, waiting through the seasons.”

And so trees wait through the years. Life comes and goes in the branches. Below the branches, the grass and the reeds are soft and green in spring and summer and wait through the winter months until the seasons come around again.

Trees mean so much to me that I have trouble expressing it. They are rooted in the earth, yet they reach for the sky.
