Since childhood, I’ve heard “it’s a small world,” and of course there was visiting Disney World where they sang it and it got into your head and wouldn’t leave no matter what other music you heard.
I don’t know if the world is small or merely overcrowded and covered with too few trees and too much asphalt!

Maybe it also depends where you live and how crowded it is, Marilyn. When I’m in the UK, the world feels much smaller because everywhere is so crowded. In South Africa, when you drive to rural parts you can go for miles without seeing a single other car or person.

Maybe it’s both, depending where you live. Jerusalem was very close, but its a lot roomier here! Although I like cities, I find a lot more peace in the country. I like having space around me rather then other buildings.

Yes, it is peaceful out of the city. I can do it and be happy for a few weeks.

One of the things we discovered when we moved to the country was that we didn’t feel we needed vacations in the country. We were already there 🙂

It’s an earworm. Maybe the original earworm!

As Stephen Wright said: It’s a small world, but I wouldn’t want to have to paint it.’
