A Photo a Week Challenge: Focal Point
My eyes are not good at close focusing anymore. Even with a magnifying glass, I really can’t see a lot of small text, especially the labeling on medications. I’m sure the people who design those inserts and labels never have to read them, especially not in low light late at night.
They are probably joining forces with the people who design those pills which are supposed to pop out when you push them, but always crumble — or just stay where they were. Where’s my knife? The only place I have good control over my focal point is when I use my macro lens — almost always flowers.

Even I have this issue now after two extremely stressful years of virtual/online teaching during pandemic. At times can’t read the labels, ingredients, expiry dates n all with even my glasses on. BTW I loved your flowers, I told you same the other day !

Fabulous pictures Marilyn, flowers really are a speciality of yours. The detail is amazing. 🙂

My eyes are not as they were, and I have trouble reading small print, even with my glasses on.
I thank God for macro photography, the only way I can see the wonders of nature!

ONE MIGHT HOPE THAT WITH THE GROWING OLDER POPULATION, THE PRINTERS MIGHT START INCREASING THE SIZE OF THEIR CAPTIONS AND LABELS. I, TOO, HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EYESIGHT. ONE EYE IS BLIND FOR ALL PURPOSES, SO THE ONE HAS TO DO ALL THE WORK AND IT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE HELP THAN JUST THE MAGNIFYING GLASS. THANK HEAVEN FOR MY EBOOKS.

I am exactly the same. Even if they have enough room on the label to go larger, they make the print tinier than necessary. And don’t get me started on business cards where 95 percent of the card is blank yet they still use tiny print.
