As hundreds of Grackles circled our house and set up watch posts in the oak trees, I was pretty sure I’d seen this scene before. In a movie. Hmm. Could it be “The Birds”? Garry got some good pictures of them in the trees and the air. All I got were dead oak leaves. I feel I should mention that, from the ground, a leaf clinging to an oak limb could be a bird. Or a leaf. Given my eyesight, I would need binoculars to tell the difference.

VERY Hitchcockian! And they keep returning, in larger numbers. Very scary.

They are perfect for playing scary scenes in the movie.

Sadje, I just won’t stand under them. But they have a ferocious dive bomber style.

They do look a tad creepy lurking up there in the trees.

Tas. So scary, especially on these dark, gloomy days.

I took very similar photos like these but with a squirrel. We get grackles around here but I’ve never seen this many at one time.

Never let it be said we do things in a small way. We also get murders of crows. And they are ALL hungry.

Mama, I think there was a local casting call. These guys are looking to make it big here in cinematic Uxbridge.
