I can’t get them to leave, so I might as well enjoy their beauty. This was the second sunny day in a row — a near miracle! — and they were back.

I do love their colors. All we have here is black ones and black eyes. 😀

Thanks. They aren’t as bad as they look, but they do look scary. They they are beautiful probably keeps them alive. The only all black birds we have here are crows and raven. And I think they are all black most places, though there’s a grey and white one somewhere out your way (I think).

They are. They gleam and in the sun, they are every color except white. Amazing, beautiful — but there are SO many of them.

I have also given up.. they emptied my feeders that are meant for smaller birds.. hopefully this is not a trend

I think they have been driven out of other places where they used to feed. My best guess is that there is nowhere left for them to live. They are also dying because there are no fields for them to clear and there are too many of them for backyard feeders like us to manage. I don’t know what to do either. I think it IS a trend and a worrisome one.

Beautiful but so MANY of them! I realized I’m using about five POUNDS of food every days — that’s 2 kilos. I don’t know how I can maintain this. They are beautiful, though.

We did the same like you, before. But now we could not do any more, because the city council is not allows us to feed the birds because they are big birds and they came to our neighbour and damaged the roof of their house.

They are flying rainbows. And in the sun, they actually glow.
