5 Things to Repeat to Yourself in 2022
The pandemic has given all of us a lot of time to reflect, but I’ve found reflections aren’t always my best choice. Also, I’ve got a lot more than five things to repeat to myself. There must be at least a hundred. Meanwhile, here are five I can remember:
- Be good to yourself. No one else has time because they are too busy being good to themselves.
- Feed the birds unless the deck is full of grackles. If all you can see are grackles, tell the grackles to leave. THEN feed the birds.
- CALL THE DENTIST WHILE YOU STILL HAVE TEETH.
- Start combing through that pile of what used to be important papers and find the REALLY important papers. You do not need old tax records from the 1980s and 1990s. Really. You don’t. Also, try and find the deed to the house.
- You are allowed to do something other than writing or taking pictures for your blog. It’s okay to do other things. Repeat this mantra frequently, then sit down and write something for your blog.

I’ve got so much more that should be on this list. Unfortunately, I can’t remember what they are.

The world certainly isn’t the same but we ought to stay optimistic and know that are are great things amidst the chaos too

I’m not sure how great things are, but I also think there’s not much point in walking around all doom and gloom. So we do the best we can, all things considered. I don’t see any great, positive stuff happening, at least not in the U.S. I wish I did.

I do agree with you. It isn’t the best of all times but I am trying to discern the goodness that I see around me, it may be little but I am hoping and praying that it only gets better soon.

Me too, but it sure is hard, especially because “good” things these days were perfectly ordinary things a couple of years ago.

May be there was something that always wanted us to realise the goodness in the ordinary, something we ignored. 🙂

Yes. There definitely IS that. A rediscovery of what things meant to which we never paid any attention.

It is a fun list except I really need to actually do these things — including attacking that mass of old but used to be important paperwork. I’ve been avoiding it for years, but I think it’s lurking level has gone up. A lot.

A good, sensible list for the year. Best of all, it’s very practical.

Good luck to you.
I find decluttering very difficult too and keep putting it off .

This particular “paper” decluttering has been put off for a very long time. At least I no long save everything, but still, there is WAY too much. Worse, this stuff has to be carefully sorted because it isn’t ALL junk. There are important papers mixed in with the rubbish. I just don’t think it can wait much longer, much as the idea appalls me.

Marilyn,
We are in the mists of rearranging and throwing out. . . . just saying, I can’t believe the amount of stuff. Love your pictures. Claudia

Aren’t we glad we’re in the paperless society? There’s an ENDLESS amount of paper. Every single piece of paper i get tells me to save it. I don’t because it’s already bad enough, but if I actually kept ALL of that paper? We’d have to move out and leave the house for all the papers.

Does this blog make my butt look big? I’m sure I sit here in front of the computer way too long!

I sometimes get up and can barely move. It’s like I’m glued together.

Thanks. I think I’m going to try to call for a dentist appointment. How long will the wait time be? Hmm.
