Undaunted by a previous failed attempt, I went back today. These aren’t bad. Imperfect, but better. It seems that like everything else, practice and keep practicing.

They really are gorgeous birds when they are in their breeding feathers. They are gloriously golden.

Thank you 😀 The third one is actually the same proportions except his head should be a bit flatter. I would have erased it but my eraser said no. The Goldfinch was in motion, trying to take off. His wings were moving! I love it when I catch them with their wings up like that. It’s so elegant 😀 His head is a little bit too round, but just a bit.
We are expecting a blizzard today and it just started snowing. It is going to be a big storm, but it’s very cold, so the snow should be light and fluffy — not a backbreaker.
