I tried putting my project on black paper with mixed results. I am not at all sure what medium will work on black paper. It absorbs the color. Maybe it needs to be something shadowy. Ghosts? Anyway, this is how it came out.

It is much brighter here than on the paper. I used some offset and gamma corrections to make the colors stand out. The moon is metallic gold which you can see, but it’s not as bright as it is here.

I may just try a bunch of ghosts next!

  1. have fun marilyn! ❤ it sounds like a lot of fun creating!

  2. I like the black background, Marilyn. Very nice!

    • Thank you so much 😀 I was encouraged. It’s not what I expected. I’m not sure what I expected so I learned a lot. It’s expensive paper so I will have to carefully plan the next drawing. I think simpler — and not to expect bright colors. But I think anything shadowy or pale and soft might work — after I figure out what colors will work.

  4. I think your Night Visitor on black paper looks really cool!

    • Thank you. It looks cool, but I think I can make it better. But it sure was interesting. I’ve never tried to do anything on a black paper before, and the colors looked so different. it was really interesting. Next time will be a lot cooler (I hope!) 😀
