I’ve drawn half a dozen Cardinals. It was the first bird I tried to draw and it flopped. Since then, I’ve tried twice more and neither was satisfying. But last night, I think I finally drew a cardinal that looks like a real Cardinal. He’s red, he’s round, he’s ready for action!

I think I finally drew one that doesn’t look like a flat cutout. Maybe it was the angle of the original photograph, but this time, it worked. And the detail didn’t hurt either 😀
