GET OFF MY LAWN – By TOM CURLEY

FLASH! NEW PODCAST ON THE WAY!

Hello everybody. I know it’s been a while since I’ve written a blog here on Serendipity.  I could come up with a number of reasons.

I ran out of ideas for a blog.

Hmmm, no not really, I have a lot of ideas for blogs in my notebook, so that’s not going to work.

I have written every blog that I could ever think of, and there were no more blogs to write.

Well, that’s just silly. And isn’t that just the same excuse as the first one, just written differently?

I was kidnapped by aliens and taken off world.

I like that one, but then I’d have to provide proof and probably have to answer uncomfortable questions about anal probes.

Or I could just tell the truth. I stopped writing blogs because it was getting more and more difficult to actually write blogs. I had a condition called Dupuytren’s contracture. It’s also called Vikings disease or trigger finger.  Your ring finger starts to contract, and you can’t straighten you hand out.

It happens slowly over time. It made it harder and harder for me to type. It got to the point where for every word I typed I would backspace two or three times. After a while I stopped typing. Oddly, it was when I realized I couldn’t play the piano anymore (and yes, I know the joke coming. I could play the piano to begin with) that I decided to take care of it.

So, I got surgery for the problem and got it fixed.  The recovery took a little longer that I expected, but I’m fine now. Typing is easy again. And I can play the piano (badly). If you have this problem, it can be fixed. Both by surgery or another procedure where you get a few shots.

But that’s not what this blog is about.  I’m here to introduce a new podcast I have started.  It’s really a short form TV show, but we call them podcast’s these days. It’s called Get Off My Lawn! With Tom Curley.

In it I talk about Life, The Universe and Whatever-the-Hell-Else I want to talk about.  Just like I do here on Serendipity. I wanted to debut it here because most of the episodes are video versions of blogs I wrote. Even though I wrote the blogs years ago, they are still relevant today though a lot of them should not be.

So here it is. Episode 1 of Get Off My LawnMemory, Memories, and Where the Hell Are My Keys!

Be sure to click, comment, subscribe, tag, poke, prod, punch, shove, tickle or whatever the hell you do on these sites.!

Warning! More episodes are coming!

  1. Good to have you back! We all missed you. Well, I missed you less because we’re friends, but I missed having you on this site. This looks great! Like all the special effects you added too.

    • Tom, the encore viewing on my computer was even funnier. BTW: Thanks for explaining “Podcast” – a short TV show. “Podcast” sounds so techy and complicated.

You have terrific screen presence. Very natural. It’s not really something that can be taught. It’s ironic given all the years you spent “pushing buttons” to make less talented people look good. If you could go back in time, you could be somebody – a face and name you wouldn’t have to google to remember. Package your screen presence with all your other impressive talents and you could be TOP OF THE WORLD, MA!

This isn’t just an old friend blowing smoke your way. I am over the top impressed with your TV studio (sorry, I didn’t mean to divulge) and all the shows you’ve done so far.

Retirement has given us TOM CURLEY 2. The sequel is better! Take that Mario Puzo and suck on a cannoli.
