There has been a wild surge of bird activity lately. I don’t know if it’s because of the lack of rain or just the time of year, but many birds have come and hung about. Today was catbird day. Of course the doves never leave. They are permanently lodged here and get raucous when food is late.
I hope the rain makes them happy. I hope it makes the earth and the trees happy too! If nothing else, it has definitely perked up the groundwater!

The catbird sounds like a kitten, hence the name. He’s the all gray bird with the black cap. They are elegant birds.
