FOTD – OCTOBER 7 – Water flowers
They grow along the riverbanks and in the river. Some grow in swamps. All these plants want to live in the water or minimally, right next to it. I don’t know the names of most of these plants.
Factoid: Moose swim well. Their favorite food is water lily. You can sometimes see them in the water, just their head showing, as they swim to whatever part of the lake has water lilies.

Well, they are in Scandinavia — MANY of them, last I heard. I have to assume they crossed over the Bering Sea when it was frozen — 10,000 years ago?

I have seen them when I lived and travelled in Canada but I would NEVER have guessed that you have them where you live! That’s amazing….

They aren’t in Massachusetts but we have spent a lot of vacation time in Maine and Vermont and there are plenty of moose up there. Moose like very cold weather. It’s too warm for them here — JUST as well. They are huge and tend to wander the roads — is deadly to both moose and humans.
