THE UNFURLING

FOTD – February 13 – The Unfurling and Uncurling of an Anthurium

From when I first saw the bud of this flower, I have been watching it unfurl, uncurl until it’s now almost a fully open. It’s getting close. Anthurium blossoms last a very long time. Some seem to have lasted for years which, given how long it takes to create a flower, does not surprise me.

I’ve never seen any flower take so long to go from bud to flower.
