THE COLOR OF SPRING

CMMC: March Granny Smith Apple (light green) Colors

This is the beginning of spring when we get that color of green which is very close to gold. Its life is short. The leaves are ever turning. Briefly, though, we have a couple of golden weeks in early spring.

And now, a poem.

  2. Spring had arrived here in UK, but then torrential rain and storm winds arrived. Hopefully, Nature will remember what she was up to when the dust settles!

    • This unusual hot weather will diminish for a couple of weeks, but I think it will be an early summer. It wasn’t much of a winter and I think climate change has hit this region hard.

When we were down by the river today, there were more insects than I’ve ever seen this time of year. It’s going to be a VERY buggy summer. Ticks and fleas are breeding like crazy and I’ve never seen that many big black carpenter ants on fenceposts. Next I have to get the dog shaved down. He hates hot weather — his triple coat is good for winter, but not so great in the heat. Also,I had to buy a new A/C. It won’t be here until the beginning of May, so I hope the heat drops in the meantime.

  3. That Frost poem…. He was a visionary, his words are valid for more than his observations of nature.

    • I was just very surprised this morning when I went to put out the suet and burned my feet on the deck! It was HOT. Not just war. It felt like Arizona. We don’t usually get that kind of very dry heat, especially not in April. But it got us out of the house with cameras and that was good. We both needed an airing!
