Share Your World 25th April

The leaves are opening outside. Even the oaks are showing baby leaves — and I’ve never seen them leaf before May. Ever. It really is warmer than it was. And oh those mosquitoes! They are ravenous and it seems I look like a hearty meal.

What was the most memorable gift you gave someone?

There have been quite a few. The car I gave my son. The gold watch I gave to Garry. The antique penny from the Roman-Jewish wars I gave my mother. I come from a family of givers. The good thing is we always gave each other gifts whether or not it was a holiday or other celebration.

The bad news? You had to be careful what you admired because you were likely to own it!

What was the most memorable gift you received?

The Gucci watch Garry gave me before we were “officially” engaged. I remember my cousin looked at it and smiled. “He’s going to marry you,” she said. She was right.

For women – Would you be suspicious if your partner gave you flowers or chocolates for no reason?

No. But I’m not suspicious, even when I probably should have been.

Have you accepted a gift with pleasure, even if you hated it?

I try, but honestly? I’m not very good at it. No one believes me.

I’m beginning to feel better. Finally, the daily COVID headache has gone. The remaining cough is probably hay fever. It’s that time of year again.

Also, this might sound silly, but I ordered three pairs of pants from L.L. Bean. All three pairs fit perfectly, as if they were made for me. How often does that happen? It has never happened to me!

  1. Not a drop of rain around here.

But we’ve learned to be careful what we ask for.

  2. Good sign with the clothes Marilyn! I know what you mean about being careful admiring something. That;s how I ended up with a collection of bells.
Thanks for joining in again this week. Glad you’re feeling better.

  3. You’re a generous person Marilyn
