CEE’S BLACK & WHITE PHOTO CHALLENGE: ABANDONED OR ALONE
This week’s topic is abandoned or alone. Anything from a solitary person to a dilapidated old building or car. The world is full of alone or abandoned items. Or maybe somewhat that was once abandoned and rescued or restored.

I have a strange fascination for abandoned houses. I don’t know why. I even wrote a poem about it. It’s around… somewhere. 🙂

I think we ALL do. Photographers take pictures of them constantly. Old things, abandoned things, things that are almost collapsed. It’s a bit spooky, and I think there’s something about this stuff that speaks to some part of us that’s very basic to human nature.

I really enjoyed your entry this week Marilyn. I am so in love with your last photo of the vehicle. It has so much patina on it. 🙂

And that old fire engine grows more interesting with the passing seasons. It lives in a vacant lot across from the post office where the fire department put it when it was retired. Now more than 15 years ago. Weeds grow and Old Number 2 remains.

Abandonment and decay fascinate us…in spite of ourselves. These represent a great capture of mood; particularly love the cabin.

Thank you 🙂 Old and abandoned things seem to fascinate all photographers. Nothing like an old rusty truck to bring out the cameras. That cabin was irresistible 🙂

“Nothing like an old rusty truck to bring out the cameras. ..” Love it–and so true! I’m no professional but I have a particular fondness for snapping photos of the old green John Deere tractors; they age rather beautifully

We have our very OWN rusting antique tractor. My husband (who really gets me) gave it to me for our 10th anniversary and it’s been gently falling to pieces in the garden ever since. I love it. It is the source of great photographs. Other people call it junk. I call it ART.
