Author’s Note: I suddenly realized I did not know whether fuchsia was both singular and plural, or singular only. So, I did a little research and discovered that the plural of fuchsia is fuchsias. Therefore: “The fuchsia has revived,” but “the fuchsias have revived.” This kind of thing makes writers and editors crazy, but simultaneously makes us deeply grateful for the easy availability of online dictionaries.
