The morning after a snowstorm, the air is absolutely clear, washed clean by wind and snow. The skies are robin’s egg blue, sunshine the bright pale yellow of winter. The day after a storm, our woods is perfect. All its rough edges are smooth and white. Grand, indeed — hushed, crystalline and sparkling.

Yes, and you only see it for a very short time after a snow. Then the wind comes and blows it off, or it melts a little and disappears. One way or the other, you’ve got less than an hour to grab the shot. Usually, I oversleep right through it 🙂

It was early in the morning right after the snow stopped and the clouds went away. It’s always so clear after a stop, like the air has been washed (maybe it has, actually) … and the light is different. I actually made it outside early enough to catch it. So thanks for liking it 🙂
