    • It’s a strange fall this year. It was really lovely down by the dam, but by the reservoir a few blocks away, the trees are mostly still green. Kind of “medium” at another part of the river. This autumn has been very late and very patchy. Too much warm, rainy weather, I suppose. But it’s strange the way some areas are really bright and gorgeous … and a mile away, green.

    • Autumn in New England is prettier than anybody else’s. It’s our “thing,” the one thing no one can beat. That’s why this year was so disappointing. This is very pretty, but on a normal year, this is half of autumn. It gets MUCH better than this.
